Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Hope I have your attention now, cause I am finally going to update my blog. I know hard to believe isn't it? No excuse, just out of sight out of mind, no time? Ok, so maybe no time was a little lame but hey whatever works. I really did think that when I began this blog that I would at least maybe update it once a week not every couple of months....lol! Let see where do I begin now and try to catch things up....hmmm don't think thats going to happen since I can't hardly remember yesterday let alone a couple months ago. So lets begin with more recent things.

Ashley has finished playing soccer for the spring season. She was playing on both an indoor and outdoor team. That kept us busy pretty much on the weekends just going to her games. Of course, since I'm am usually down at Kim's on the weekends anyway I didn't have to travel that much. Poor Rich had to travel back and forth so he could see her games. God love him, he's really a good Papa! I imagine now you are thinking that soccer is over and whatever shall we do with all that spare time on the weekends now....don't hold your breath cause Ashley has now started up softball for the season again! So we will again be attending games on the weekends and Rich will be traveling back and forth again! Gotta love grandkids they do keep you young!

Along with sports Ashley also had to get ready for her 1st Communion which was April 26th. Thank goodness I didn't have much to do cause it might not have gotten done. All the second graders looked very pretty/handsome and very angelic (hope they never lose that innocence). It was truly a very nice sevice long but good. 65 kids took part in their 1st communion. Thanks goes to Nana (Tony's mom) for buying the dress, shoes, veil, etc for this event and I must say she did an excellent job. Ashley's dress was beautiful, yet simple and elegant and of course Ashely was beautiful in it.

Let see what else is relatively new oh yes, had some company. What a wonderful time we had. Mom, Jacque, and Jim came for a visit. Thanks to Jim's company there was a convention here in St. Louis that Jim was going to attend, so Jacque fingured why not come and stay with us and I am glad they did. We had a great time! There was nothing planned or expected for the week. And believe it or not we still ran out of time for things we wanted to do, how does that happen? Mom, Jacque and I went to a little tea house restaurant for lunch one day and boy it was good. I hadn't been to that one in awhile so I forgot what good food they had. We also went to the local mall one day to go to Bed Bath & Beyond for a popcorn maker and then wandered around the mall and of course the food court was going to be our 1st stop, but instead we ended up at the Chevy's in mall there and boy are we glad we did. Let see a couple margaritas later and a quesadilla we were very relaxed and enjoying ourselves. Yum they were good. But as usual all good things must come to an end. It was very sad to see them leave but we had a great time while they were here (maybe they'll come back sometime again).

Thats probably all the exciting things I can remember for the last couple of months and now its back to the same old routine. Spend half my time at home and the other at Kim's. At least now I can get back into my routine of working out regularly. Love that exercising!

So this is it for now and hopefully I won't wait so long to update again. Take care, enjoy life, and love to the fullest!

Hmmm - It's Wednesday

Well its been awhile since my last blog and believe it or not nothing much has changed or happened. I really do live an uneventful life. Hmmm, there must be something I can add to this blog to make it at least half way enjoyable, so here goes! Well, Ashley was 1 of 3 girls in her brownie troop to sell the most cookies (or should I say Ashley with Kim's help). Of course, that meant when we picked up the cookies last Saturday we had to sort them into their respective orders all 262 boxes of them. Poor Kim she has to deliver alot of them to work (several days of taking them I'm sure). I'm just glad girl scout cookies are only sold once a year.... my poor waistline couldn't take any more and I'd hate to think all this exercising was for naught! Speaking of exercising, I really enjoyed the cartoon my sweet sister Carrol put on her blog about the treadmill...too funny! Now I know why I hold on when I'm jogging, course the real reason is I'm usually watching a movie on my IPOD and am afraid of getting too engrossed in the movie and forget where/what I'm doing.....lol! I maybe crazy but I really do enjoy the treadmill the other machines I can tolerate. Guess now since both my sisters are getting really creative with their widgets and slideshows and whatever, I need to get my act together and do something creative too, but probably not tonight! Now that I've rambled on long enough its time to say SO LONG FOR NOW!

What Can I Say?

Well here it goes, its been awhile since my last blog. It seems like playing on facebook has taken over the computer time. Lets see whats new since the last time....hmmm not sure so guess will just have to think of something to say. Didn't make it to the gym yesterday, but did manage to make it their today. It was more or less a cardio type of day, only did a couple of the resistance machines. Did manage to workout 30 min on the ellipitical, 10 min on the bike and my usual 20 min jog on the treadmill. Who would have thought that I would actually like jogging on a treadmill! In all honesty, I actually miss it when I haven't done it. Guess that must mean I just might be addicted to exercising. Rich and I went to dinner last night haven't been out in awhile. Went to Massa's and had some good pasta, then back home and watched a movie, Body of Lies. Before that though we had to go to Little Miss Ashley's indoor soccer game her second one. She played really well, but didn't score a goal this game. The teams were pretty evenly matched and were tied 3 - 3 with only a couple minutes left, however the other team managed to score a goal so the girls lost 4 - 3 but they played really really good. Its amazing to watch these little girls play together, it brings back memories of when Kim and Eric were younger and playing soccer. Who would have thought that we would be spending our time going to soccer games again and loving every minute. Its always such a treat to spend time with Ashley watching her grow. Today however, was sorta a lazy type day, except for going to the gym, didn't do much, put a roast on, Rich went in to the office and I read the paper. After dinner watched a little tv and now its computer time. Need to hurry and finish this blog up so I can go out and check facebook again....lol So until the next blog....remember One Life Many Moments (read that somewhere).

Ok, Since I was Tagged.....

Well like Sharon said, Jaime tagged me too, so here goes, the 6th picture in the 6th file on my pc. This file of pictures was just tagged with a date no formal name since these were really pictures Eric took. The file was of a wedding he and a couple buddies went to last May (2008), however I did take the first 6 pictures. Lucky for me since I would have no idea who was who in the wedding shots....lol.

Ron, Rich, EJ (Eric)

Arn't they a dashing group of men. This is actually Eric's first suit in ever. He actually wanted to buy a suit so he would have one to wear to weddings, funerals, etc. I must say he looked very handsome in it too. He picked out the suit, shirt, tie, and shoes, and did a great job. Of course I had to go with him to help pick out and ended up paying for it.....how does that work??? Anyway, this was my 6th picture. Not sure who else Jaime tagged so for now I too will not be tagging anyone since she already got Sharon and Carrol.

On a different note today was Ashley's first indoor soccer game. The team has never played indoor before and no practices. They did an amazing job of playing the boards and working together. Ashley scored her first indoor goal and almost had another. Her team won 4 to 1. She loved playing it but did get a little tired of running (we told her indoor is much faster than outdoor). Don't think she believed us at first but now she does.

Well, can't think of anything else to say right now, so until next time, remember to live life to the fullest, love lots, and have fun!

Thoughts for the Day

Saturday night is here again. Where does the time go? My niece Jaime said it best in her blog, the days just seem to go by and by. I think the older I get the faster time seems to fly by and yes I to seem to take things for granted to. Just because I do things the same way all the time doesn't mean that I have to. Who says I can't eat dessert first and then dinner or even no dinner at all. Of course, dessert isn't really on my menu right now seeing as how I'm still trying to watch what I eat and lose a few more pounds. Take today for instance, Ashley and I went to the show to see Inkheart and whats a show without popcorn and soda right? And of course the popcorn had to have butter on it. Right there I managed to over indulge in carbs for the day, but at least I did manage to leave a few crumbs of popcorn in the bag to be thrown away....lol Should I have eaten all that popcorn, probably not, but it sure was good. I guess every now and then its good to get out of your ruts and over indulge in something. It can be anything from food, people, fun, love, books, or whatever makes you feel good or happy! Today going to a movie with Ashley and eating popcorn and drinking soda made me happy. I may not like what the scale says tomorrow, but I wouldn't trade today for anything even for a few more lost pounds. It may take me longer to get to my goal weight but oh well, the buttered popcorn was well worth it and Ashleys company is priceless!.

Now that I've depressed everyone with the subject of weight I guess I'll close for now. So until the next post....enjoy life and every now and then get out of your ruts!

Just Another Day!

Well its been a few days since my last post, so thought I would try and do one now. Why I don't know seeing as how I haven't really done anything to make this post interesting. I really do need to get out more! Still have snow on the ground from our snowstorm last week. It's melting slowly. Even with the sun shining its been a little to chilly to melt it all. Have a high of 24 today but feels more like 9...and I wonder why the snow is not gone yet. Although, the superbowl is over I have to say the Cardnials did a great job. We were rooting for them all the way. Kurt Warner is something else. And oh yes, I have to say Brenda Warner looked very good, much better than she ever did here. The Arizona sunshine must agree with her.

As stated before I promised to give updates on my new phone and how its doing. I've managed to figure out a few more things, but its still quite a mystery. What's really bad is that an eight year old (Ashley) can figure out more things on it than I can! Oh well, at least maybe I can learn a few things from her....

As I said before not a very interesting post, but its all I have right now. So until later enjoy a glass of wine or beer and have a little snack.

It's Over Finally!

Well believe it or not our wintry mix is finally over. Finished up early this morning but not before dumping about 6" on us. Some places had even more! The sun even decided to come out and make us think it was warmer than it was. High of 23 and right now its about 19. Didn't make it to the gym today instead I shoveled the driveway this morning before Rich went to work. I really hate packing the snow down by driving over it. It's a good thing it was a relatively light snow since it took me about an hour to get it done. Six inches of snow is not fun! By the time I was through I could feel it in my arms (and since today was arms workout day) figured that might be enough. Also could feel it in my back must of been the twisting/turning...lol , and of course my cardio/fat burn from lifting/pushing snow. Probably didn't work all muscles I should have today, but oh well, I will be back at the gym in the morning doing routine #3 arms and cardio. Guess thats about it for tonight, not too interesting, but its all I had....

So until the next interesting/uninteresting blog

Freezing Rain, Sleet, Snow

Well its been a wonderful couple of days. We are having a wintry mix of weather anything from freezing rain, sleet, snow and any combination of the three. Leave it to St. Louis to have all the fun...lol. Already shoveled the driveway early this morning from last nights weather and will probably have to do it again tonight....yuk! I do have to say though it is a very pretty snow, everything is nice and white and clean looking. Now if it would just learn to fall on the grass and not the streets and driveways it would truly be wonderful. Ashley had her first snow day of the year which I know she was happy about. Think there might have been 700 school closings today, think pretty much all the schools. I think we are pretty much in for snow through tomorrow sometime.

Today, I did day #2 on Carrol's exercise routine....legs. Yesterday I did #1 the arms. So far not too bad. My little community gym doesn't quite have all the equipment that Carrol's big gym does so have to improvise some. All in all though its not too bad. Of course, will have to wait a little while to see how it does, and hopefully it will work for me too. If not, guess go back to my own little routine of just doing whatever.....

Ok, it's day 4 of having my new cell phone and I'm not sure I know anymore about it than I did the other day. I did download the manual and was reading some of it just to see what different functions it will do. It looks like it can do just about anything except cook breakfast and I'm not sure it couldn't be programmed to do that.

Just as a side note it is still snowing and judging from the snow piled up on the table outside between yesterday and now we have between 4 - 6". Oh Lucky Us!

Finally!!!

Well I finally did it! I bought a new cell phone today, the Samsung Eternity. I know, I know, I have been procrastinating for the last few months, ok maybe longer than a few months, but at least I finally did it. Of course, now I have to figure out what to do with it cause I haven't a clue! This phone definitely has more functions than I am capable of using. I was barely able to turn the phone on and oh this touch screen is something else. This is really going to take some getting use to. Course Kim was showing me how to do some of the things on it but not sure I will remember. Kim even linked up our bluetooth function so we could send things back and forth via bluetooth, (like I'm going to remember how to do that). I just hope I will be able to remember how to dial. answer, and send text messages on it! Oh and be able to find my voicemail had trouble with that today! I told you way too many buttons/functions for me. I did manage to get some alarms set since thats what I use when I'm at kims (wouldn't want Ashley to be late for school). Oh well enough about my phone, but I promise to keep you updated on my progress at learning its functions....lol!

What a Beautiful Day!

Today was simply beautiful, the sun was shinning and it was warm, couldn't ask for anything better. We needed this day to come out of hibernation since starting tomorrow another cold front is coming through. The weekend and beginning of next week will be cold again, but then what can you expect, after all it is January (winter) in St. Louis. Started my morning working out as usual, but just did a little leg work and then some cardio, wasn't quite in the mood today but did it anyway. Starting next week I will begin the new routine that my wonderful sister Carrol sent me. I figure I can give it a try and see how it works for me. Course the best thing for me would be to just go get my body sculpted, but seeing as how I don't like pain thats probably not an option. Oh well, I will just have to keep up my working out routines and hope for the best. Wish I had something more interesting to say, but I don't! Maybe next time!

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Well here it is Wednesday and believe it or not we're actually having a heat wave for the next couple of days. Today was a nice sunny, slightly chilly day with a high of 45 degrees, but tomorrow is suppose to be a balmy high 50's day and maybe even reaching 60 degrees. I know all you Arizonians think that is chilly but to us it's wonderful especially in the middle of January. Of course with all this good weather comes a downside too, it's suppose to turn colder for the weekend and maybe even have snow next Monday or Tuesday...bummer! On a lighter note had an RHS luncheon with my St. Paul group today. Went to a new place well at least new to me and fairly new at being opened. Food was pretty good, large portions, on the slightly pricey side for lunch but hey guess its ok once in awhile. Since this place was located in an outside mall venue we did a little shopping/looking after eating. The only place we managed to make it too was Coldwater Creek before it started getting late. Guess 12 women cant go shopping together and be quick....lol

Sunday January 18, 2009 - Back Home Again!

Well back home again from Kims. Love watching Ashley, but it sure feels good to be back home again. Today is Cardinals football day. We're watching the game in action on the big screen tv in HD. What a difference HD makes you think you're in the stadium itself. I'm rooting for the Arizona Cardinals today and hope they go all the way to the SUPERBOWL! Even though St. Louis sent the Cardinals to Arizona several years ago I'm hoping they win. Love Kurt Warner and hope he takes the Cardinals to the biggest event and comes out the WINNER! However, before sitting down to watch the game Rich and I went to the old Chain of Rocks bridge for Eagle Days. The eagles come back every year and nest by the river. They open the old bridge for people to walk on and look for the eagles. We saw a lone one sitting in a tree right after getting on the bridge. What a sight! We walked down and little further and looked again. Binoculars are a must. Sitting in a clump of trees were at least 25 eagles. There was probably more but thats what I counted quickly. We went about half way across the bridge and sitting on the roof of an old water intake house was a falcon, how cool is that! He was just sitting there! Walking back on the bridge to the car we took a couple last looks at the eagles. They really are majestic birds!
YIPPEE the CARDINALS WON! Superbowl here we come!

Saturday January 17 - Heat Wave

Well finally the deep freeze broke for awhile. Today is was a balmy 49 degrees course with the wind only felt like 40 but hey its better than the negatives we were having. Course tomorrow its suppose to be cooler again only highs in the 30's, but I'll still take it. Had a red hat luncheon today to go to. Everything was scheduled for a new Pub and Grill called Loco's, but when we got there they had had a water pipe break and the health department was not letting anyone into the place. The queen foumd this out just minutes before getting there she immediatley did a turnaround and went to this other restaurant on main street in St. Charles. Since it was before 11:00 am the restaurant was not even opened yet, but she managed to talk to the manager and low and behold they said yes and set up an area for us in about 10min. Imagine roughly 50 people to set up tables and get wait staff for, but they did it! Three cheers for the Lewis & Clark restaurant!

Friday January 16,2009 - The Big Chill Still Here!

Well here it is Friday evening and not much has changed weather wise. We are still in the middle of a deep freeze. The temperature outside is 13 degrees but feels like a -1. We even had a few snow flurries today, not sure how since its so darn cold!!!! But hey on the bright side looks like tomorrow we will be having a HEAT WAVE with a high of 42 degrees, course its suppose to be windy but thats ok. Really wish that I had something interesting to say but seeing as how I stayed indoors all day this is it. The only time I ventured out was to take Ashley to school and pick her up after school and both times it was colder than....... Guess the old saying is true if you don't like the weather now stick around it will change and believe me I am definitely hoping it will change to warmer.....lol My rescue friend is here again....Thank Goodness!

January 14, 2009 - The Big Chill

Well started out the day by working out. Left the house to go to the gym around 8:00am and it was around 30 -32 degrees chilly but ok. Finished my workout and stopped by the store on my way home temperature had dropped and the wind had picked up. The artic blast was coming our way. By 1:00pm temperature was at 20 degrees and stayed that way for a couple hours. By 6:00pm had dropped to around 16 degrees. At 10:30pm it is now 9 degrees but with the wind chill factored in it feels more like -5 degrees, yes thats a negative 5. Our low tonight will be around 1 degrees but will feel more like -10 to -17. But hey the bright side is that our high tomorrow will be a whopping 10 degrees and low tomorrow night of zero. The last time we saw temperatures this cold was 1999! This is my rescue dog and his barrel is filled with wine....lol Here's hoping I don't turn into a popcicle before he get here!

Boring Day

Ok this could get old pretty fast. I need to do something exciting just so I have things to write. Went to the gym again today. It was free weights/resistance machines for the ole arms today, then it was on the treadmill for my 60min jogging. Finished up watching Hairspray and started watching Love Actually on the IPOD. About the only thing going on is we are getting close to redoing our bathroom. Keep changing our minds about things (nothing new there). Hopefully we will decide on some things soon and get the ball rolling. Can't wait....yea right!

Monday January 12, 2009

Well here it goes my first attempt at writing a blog. Created the account but not sure what to do with it now so am just going to practice writing for a bit. Let see started the day out by going to the civic center gym and working out. Did some free weights and some resistance circuit training and then hit the treadmill for my 60min jogging. Changed my routine a little as I did the weights/circuit training first and then went to the treadmill. My sister Carrol told me thats how it should be done so I tried it. Felt a little awkward but guess I'll get used to it. Watched Hairspray on my IPOD while jogging so the time went by pretty fast. Ok enough for now need to check out the rest of this site to see what I need to do.
