It's Over Finally!

Well believe it or not our wintry mix is finally over. Finished up early this morning but not before dumping about 6" on us. Some places had even more! The sun even decided to come out and make us think it was warmer than it was. High of 23 and right now its about 19. Didn't make it to the gym today instead I shoveled the driveway this morning before Rich went to work. I really hate packing the snow down by driving over it. It's a good thing it was a relatively light snow since it took me about an hour to get it done. Six inches of snow is not fun! By the time I was through I could feel it in my arms (and since today was arms workout day) figured that might be enough. Also could feel it in my back must of been the twisting/turning...lol , and of course my cardio/fat burn from lifting/pushing snow. Probably didn't work all muscles I should have today, but oh well, I will be back at the gym in the morning doing routine #3 arms and cardio. Guess thats about it for tonight, not too interesting, but its all I had....

So until the next interesting/uninteresting blog

Freezing Rain, Sleet, Snow

Well its been a wonderful couple of days. We are having a wintry mix of weather anything from freezing rain, sleet, snow and any combination of the three. Leave it to St. Louis to have all the fun...lol. Already shoveled the driveway early this morning from last nights weather and will probably have to do it again tonight....yuk! I do have to say though it is a very pretty snow, everything is nice and white and clean looking. Now if it would just learn to fall on the grass and not the streets and driveways it would truly be wonderful. Ashley had her first snow day of the year which I know she was happy about. Think there might have been 700 school closings today, think pretty much all the schools. I think we are pretty much in for snow through tomorrow sometime.

Today, I did day #2 on Carrol's exercise routine....legs. Yesterday I did #1 the arms. So far not too bad. My little community gym doesn't quite have all the equipment that Carrol's big gym does so have to improvise some. All in all though its not too bad. Of course, will have to wait a little while to see how it does, and hopefully it will work for me too. If not, guess go back to my own little routine of just doing whatever.....

Ok, it's day 4 of having my new cell phone and I'm not sure I know anymore about it than I did the other day. I did download the manual and was reading some of it just to see what different functions it will do. It looks like it can do just about anything except cook breakfast and I'm not sure it couldn't be programmed to do that.

Just as a side note it is still snowing and judging from the snow piled up on the table outside between yesterday and now we have between 4 - 6". Oh Lucky Us!

Finally!!!

Well I finally did it! I bought a new cell phone today, the Samsung Eternity. I know, I know, I have been procrastinating for the last few months, ok maybe longer than a few months, but at least I finally did it. Of course, now I have to figure out what to do with it cause I haven't a clue! This phone definitely has more functions than I am capable of using. I was barely able to turn the phone on and oh this touch screen is something else. This is really going to take some getting use to. Course Kim was showing me how to do some of the things on it but not sure I will remember. Kim even linked up our bluetooth function so we could send things back and forth via bluetooth, (like I'm going to remember how to do that). I just hope I will be able to remember how to dial. answer, and send text messages on it! Oh and be able to find my voicemail had trouble with that today! I told you way too many buttons/functions for me. I did manage to get some alarms set since thats what I use when I'm at kims (wouldn't want Ashley to be late for school). Oh well enough about my phone, but I promise to keep you updated on my progress at learning its functions....lol!

What a Beautiful Day!

Today was simply beautiful, the sun was shinning and it was warm, couldn't ask for anything better. We needed this day to come out of hibernation since starting tomorrow another cold front is coming through. The weekend and beginning of next week will be cold again, but then what can you expect, after all it is January (winter) in St. Louis. Started my morning working out as usual, but just did a little leg work and then some cardio, wasn't quite in the mood today but did it anyway. Starting next week I will begin the new routine that my wonderful sister Carrol sent me. I figure I can give it a try and see how it works for me. Course the best thing for me would be to just go get my body sculpted, but seeing as how I don't like pain thats probably not an option. Oh well, I will just have to keep up my working out routines and hope for the best. Wish I had something more interesting to say, but I don't! Maybe next time!

Well here it is Wednesday and believe it or not we're actually having a heat wave for the next couple of days. Today was a nice sunny, slightly chilly day with a high of 45 degrees, but tomorrow is suppose to be a balmy high 50's day and maybe even reaching 60 degrees. I know all you Arizonians think that is chilly but to us it's wonderful especially in the middle of January. Of course with all this good weather comes a downside too, it's suppose to turn colder for the weekend and maybe even have snow next Monday or Tuesday...bummer! On a lighter note had an RHS luncheon with my St. Paul group today. Went to a new place well at least new to me and fairly new at being opened. Food was pretty good, large portions, on the slightly pricey side for lunch but hey guess its ok once in awhile. Since this place was located in an outside mall venue we did a little shopping/looking after eating. The only place we managed to make it too was Coldwater Creek before it started getting late. Guess 12 women cant go shopping together and be quick....lol

Sunday January 18, 2009 - Back Home Again!

Well back home again from Kims. Love watching Ashley, but it sure feels good to be back home again. Today is Cardinals football day. We're watching the game in action on the big screen tv in HD. What a difference HD makes you think you're in the stadium itself. I'm rooting for the Arizona Cardinals today and hope they go all the way to the SUPERBOWL! Even though St. Louis sent the Cardinals to Arizona several years ago I'm hoping they win. Love Kurt Warner and hope he takes the Cardinals to the biggest event and comes out the WINNER! However, before sitting down to watch the game Rich and I went to the old Chain of Rocks bridge for Eagle Days. The eagles come back every year and nest by the river. They open the old bridge for people to walk on and look for the eagles. We saw a lone one sitting in a tree right after getting on the bridge. What a sight! We walked down and little further and looked again. Binoculars are a must. Sitting in a clump of trees were at least 25 eagles. There was probably more but thats what I counted quickly. We went about half way across the bridge and sitting on the roof of an old water intake house was a falcon, how cool is that! He was just sitting there! Walking back on the bridge to the car we took a couple last looks at the eagles. They really are majestic birds!
YIPPEE the CARDINALS WON! Superbowl here we come!

Saturday January 17 - Heat Wave

Well finally the deep freeze broke for awhile. Today is was a balmy 49 degrees course with the wind only felt like 40 but hey its better than the negatives we were having. Course tomorrow its suppose to be cooler again only highs in the 30's, but I'll still take it. Had a red hat luncheon today to go to. Everything was scheduled for a new Pub and Grill called Loco's, but when we got there they had had a water pipe break and the health department was not letting anyone into the place. The queen foumd this out just minutes before getting there she immediatley did a turnaround and went to this other restaurant on main street in St. Charles. Since it was before 11:00 am the restaurant was not even opened yet, but she managed to talk to the manager and low and behold they said yes and set up an area for us in about 10min. Imagine roughly 50 people to set up tables and get wait staff for, but they did it! Three cheers for the Lewis & Clark restaurant!

Friday January 16,2009 - The Big Chill Still Here!

Well here it is Friday evening and not much has changed weather wise. We are still in the middle of a deep freeze. The temperature outside is 13 degrees but feels like a -1. We even had a few snow flurries today, not sure how since its so darn cold!!!! But hey on the bright side looks like tomorrow we will be having a HEAT WAVE with a high of 42 degrees, course its suppose to be windy but thats ok. Really wish that I had something interesting to say but seeing as how I stayed indoors all day this is it. The only time I ventured out was to take Ashley to school and pick her up after school and both times it was colder than....... Guess the old saying is true if you don't like the weather now stick around it will change and believe me I am definitely hoping it will change to warmer.....lol My rescue friend is here again....Thank Goodness!

January 14, 2009 - The Big Chill

Well started out the day by working out. Left the house to go to the gym around 8:00am and it was around 30 -32 degrees chilly but ok. Finished my workout and stopped by the store on my way home temperature had dropped and the wind had picked up. The artic blast was coming our way. By 1:00pm temperature was at 20 degrees and stayed that way for a couple hours. By 6:00pm had dropped to around 16 degrees. At 10:30pm it is now 9 degrees but with the wind chill factored in it feels more like -5 degrees, yes thats a negative 5. Our low tonight will be around 1 degrees but will feel more like -10 to -17. But hey the bright side is that our high tomorrow will be a whopping 10 degrees and low tomorrow night of zero. The last time we saw temperatures this cold was 1999! This is my rescue dog and his barrel is filled with wine....lol Here's hoping I don't turn into a popcicle before he get here!

Boring Day

Ok this could get old pretty fast. I need to do something exciting just so I have things to write. Went to the gym again today. It was free weights/resistance machines for the ole arms today, then it was on the treadmill for my 60min jogging. Finished up watching Hairspray and started watching Love Actually on the IPOD. About the only thing going on is we are getting close to redoing our bathroom. Keep changing our minds about things (nothing new there). Hopefully we will decide on some things soon and get the ball rolling. Can't wait....yea right!

Monday January 12, 2009

Well here it goes my first attempt at writing a blog. Created the account but not sure what to do with it now so am just going to practice writing for a bit. Let see started the day out by going to the civic center gym and working out. Did some free weights and some resistance circuit training and then hit the treadmill for my 60min jogging. Changed my routine a little as I did the weights/circuit training first and then went to the treadmill. My sister Carrol told me thats how it should be done so I tried it. Felt a little awkward but guess I'll get used to it. Watched Hairspray on my IPOD while jogging so the time went by pretty fast. Ok enough for now need to check out the rest of this site to see what I need to do.
